Ellis Is Wake's Final Recruit

Chris Ellis, a power forward from Georgia, conducted a number of in-home visits during the month of July. However, it looks like Ellis has the offer he was waiting for and on Tuesday made a commitment.

Wake Forest Locks Up Ellis

What do Skip Prosser, Thad Matta and Mike Krzyzewski have in common? The answer: each coach has five commitments in hand prior to the start of October. On Tuesday, InsidersHoops.com learned that PF Chris Ellis is headed to Winston-Salem.

"I got home and me and my parents thought it through and everything was perfect for us," Ellis said. "Being in the ACC and everything was real nice. Everything looks real new and it's just nice."

Ellis strongly considered Georgia and Alabama. However, Wake Forest was his only official visit, though he did visit the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide.

Wake Forest wanted to round out its five-man class with a big man and had a visit scheduled with PF Aliou Kane, but Ellis pulled the trigger first.

"[Coach Prosser] wants me to play the four and maybe some three," Ellis said. "He told me to be ready and that I would get a lot of minutes as a freshman."
