On the loss to Florida State: "We saw a pretty good football team in Florida State. We didn't play very well in any area. Our special teams have been very good all year, but didn't play well against Florida State. Offensively, we were not able to run the ball inside and they took the perimeter runs away from us. Defensively, we had too many situations where we were out of position. We didn't play real well mentally on the defensive side of the ball, but a lot of that goes to Florida State. They're a very good football team."
On Clemson's win at North Carolina: "You fear the big play against Clemson, it's hard to keep those guys in front of you. They've got great speed at the wide out position. Whitehurst is one the best pure passers in the league. And they ran the ball fairly effectively against Carolina too. "
On Saturday's matchup with Clemson: "Clemson is very explosive, there's no question, and that's your biggest fear with them. Down and distance is the important thing. You want to have an idea when they might throw the football, so you can bring some pressure. You have to be able to control the run and hopefully put them in some situations where we have a pretty idea when they're going to throw the football. If they can keep you off balance by running the football and mixing up the throws, then you've got some problems because they have so much talent."
On being two-thirds of the way through the season: "We're basically down to crunch time. Last year at this point, we were 4-4. We had the exact same record last year after eight games. We've been here before and we know what we have to do. If we don't play well down the stretch, nothing good will happen to us after the season. There are a lot of teams in our position right now. This is the time down through November when you have to play well and if you don't, you'll be home for Christmas."
On Wake Forest's bowl game chances: "Two years ago, we were 6-5 and did not get a bowl invitation. Last year we were 6-6 and were fortunate to get in. So our guys know what's at stake. We obviously have to win at least two more to even have a chance. But two more may not do it. I think our guys know where we are right now. Now we're trying to focus on Clemson. Our guys understand what we have to do in these next four football games, but if we don't play well against Clemson, they don't matter."
Junior Linebacker Brad White
On the loss to Florida State: "I thought we played real hard, but mentally, we just made some mistakes."
On Saturday's game against Clemson: "As a linebacker, I think that in a game like this, we have to stop the runner. We have to establish a solid run defense. We need some solid pass drops. We've got four big games coming up, all are going to be tough, and it all starts with Clemson. With most guys back from last year, we know we can do better. This is crunch time for us."
On being prepared mentally and physically for the Tigers: "I think it's an ongoing process, it's hard to be at an ultimate high all the time, but you've got to keep striving for that. I don't think you can be fully prepared for what Clemson comes out with."
Senior Tight End Josh Warren
On Saturday's game against Clemson: "Clemson is a good team this year. We've had our ups and downs and so has Clemson, but we have a game plan, so we just have to go out there and execute."
On Wake Forest's bowl game chances: "First of all, if we don't beat Clemson, there's no point in looking down the road to any bowl games."
