Sleeper With One Offer

Nansemond River (VA) linebacker Eric Berry is a hard-hitting player out of Suffolk but schools are slowly starting to see his talent on film.

"Well being that I'm from a school with a past of being a losing school and pretty much I was covered up by Vince Hall in the honors last year," says the 6-foot-1, 230 pounder. "I had the same stats as him, but he was a senior and got the honors."

Among the teams Berry is receiving interest are "Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, ECU, and Marshall to name a few.

"Clemson is my only offer. I am talking to Wake Forest currently, and we sent them a few tapes here and there. I have heard from Marshall lately. Virginia Tech and Virginia I don't know what is going on with them."

Berry is waiting until January to make a decision so he can take some visits. He is currently academically eligible and a big team player.

"We were a little short on offensive linemen, so I told my coach I would do anything I could to help them out. They have me playing tackle.

One defense, I look up to Ray Lewis. He sets up the bar for all linebackers. He is a very intense player every down."

Berry likes to take that intensity and bring the heat every time he makes a tackle.
