Winston-Salem Coming Up

Georgia WR Corey Thompson is looking for some early play time. Some of his initial favorites have dropped off but he still has some excellent options.

Atlanta Douglass WR Corey Thompson denies a favorite and says that Florida and Clemson are no longer recruiting him. His leaders are Wisconsin (12/19), Wake Forest (12/12), Duke (1/9, in-home last week, recruiting the hardest), Auburn (in-home next week) and Marshall. All have offered except the Herd.

"I want to find a nice social life and environment," says Thompson. "I'm used to a big city but I've lived in a small town before--so that doesn't matter. I also want to play early.

"I like Wisconsin because it's a good school. It's cold there and it's further away. It's different from my other favorites but I'll see how I feel once I'm there.

"I know coach Roof, the new Duke coach, will be a good coach because he was a good player at Georgia Tech and he's a good man.

"Auburn is the only one of my favorites I've been to because I went to the Nike camp there this summer.

"My brother (Cheron) plays CB at Vanderbilt. He tells me it's a big decision and final and that I have to be ready before I decide. I know it'll be hard work but hard work got me to where I am today. I'll decide in January after my visits."
