Wake Still Alive With Thompson

Douglass (GA) wide receiver Corey Thompson likes the advantages Duke has for him in several areas, though he does not want to go on record with a leader.

"It was nice, everything went well. I got to meet the new coaches, and it was nice that they were just getting settled in. I like that everybody is starting off with a clean slate. Not only would I come in learning everything, I get to learn what everybody would learn at the same time.

"I really don't like to rank teams like that, but they made me think a little harder. It is a goal to go to the pros, but it's not THE goal. It just made me think because they kept throwing the degree in my face, and I like that."

Thompson has Wake Forest (12/12), Marshall (1/16), and Auburn (1/23) still on his short list. However, a decision could be made in the next 14 days.

"Hopefully I'll decide sooner rather than later. I want to at least know where I'm going right after the Marshall visit, because I've already been to Auburn."
