Three Alive For TE/DE

Matt Parkhurst was one of four prospects in Winston-Salem this past weekend on official visits. How did the Pennsylvania native enjoy his trip?

"It was a good trip," tight end and defensive end Matt Parkhurst said. "I liked the coaches and the players. All the coaches were good guys and the players were cool and the University is obviously a good school academically."

Parkhurst, hosted by Dan Callahan, is now considering the Deacs as one of his three finalists. "It's between Wake, Marshall, and Kentucky," Parkhurst said. "Wake stacks up well. I'm In the process right now of thinking everything through and will make a decision soon. It'll be probably within the week as I don't have a visit planned for this weekend."

Where are the Deacs looking to play Parkhurst? "They are kind of looking at me as a tight end, but said if there's a need on defense they think they can switch me. I think they need some tight end/H-back types right now, but they said they were confident on my abilities and said I can switch to defense. I will play wherever I need to play. I want to play and I'll play wherever the team needs me and where I can hit the field first."

Parkhurst is a 6'1, 235-pound All-state defensive end and tight end.
