Holland Decides On Wake

Wake Forest picked up a quarterback commitment on Monday when Al Holland, Jr. committed to Wake Forest….

"Yeah, I committed today," Al Holland, Jr. said. "I thought it was the best fit for me. The style of offense, great coaching staff, great players around me, plus great people."

Holland committed today to his recruiting coach, Coach Hood. "He was very happy and congratulated me," Holland said. "It was around lunchtime."

What's his plan for next season? Does Holland expect to step in and see some playing time immediately? "They'll probably red-shirt me, but there are only two scholarships quarterbacks, so I'll probably get to travel the first half of the year. But it'll depend on how things go and how I do. If it looks like I'll red-shirt I'll travel the first half and then that'll be my red-shirt year."

While Holland must first finish his studies in Hazard, Kentucky, he is ready to head to Winston-Salem and be a Demon Deacon. "I'm just anxious to get started and start working and try to improve myself," he said. "I'll probably come in around July, the last week of July."
