Deacs Interested In WV Kicker

Parkersburg, West Virginia kicker Connor Louden is one of the top kickers in the nation in the class of 2005. A 6'4, 200-pound junior, Louden is hearing from top schools around the country, including Wake Forest.

"It's been pretty heavy lately," said Connor Louden of his recruitment. "I've been getting a lot of people asking to know what I'm doing, how my season went, and asking for tapes."

To date, Louden has heard from schools around the country including Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan, Wake Forest, Indiana, Purdue, Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Army, Navy, Air Force, and others.

The 6'4, 200-pound junior from Parkersburg (WV) High School was slated to visit Wake Forest this weekend at the spring game. Due to a conflict with the ACTs, Louden will be unable to make the trip to Winston-Salem this weekend.

Louden will likely take a trip to Winston-Salem later in his recruitment, however, as his special teams coach, Coach Mark McCullough, has spoken with Louden about Coach Grobe and his relationship and care for his players at Wake Forest.

This past season, Louden set a school record with nine field goals this past season including kicks of 44 and 45-yards. He missed just three kicks on the season. On kickoffs, Louden kicked 18 of 47 kicks into the endzone for touchbacks. He also averaged 38.1 yards per punt. For his efforts, Louden was named to the Class AAA All-State football team.
