Todd Hendley Indicates He Will Transfer

Wake Forest freshman forward Todd Hendley is leaving the Demon Deacon basketball program to pursue an opportunity at another school, head coach Skip Prosser confirmed today.

"The coaching staff has been up front and honest with me from the beginning," Hendley said. "The guys on the team are great and I will remain good friends with them. I just felt like it was time for me to pursue a different path.

"No matter where I end up, I will remain a Wake Forest fan and watch every game I can on television. Attending Wake Forest was an incredible opportunity for me and I appreciate Coach Prosser and his staff giving me that opportunity."

Hendley, a 6-9 Sanford (NC) product, played in 16 games as a freshman. He averaged 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. Hendley had a season-high nine points in a home win against Elon and he had eight points and six reboounds in a home victory against North Carolina A&T. He did not indicate what school he will transfer to.

"We're disappointed Todd has chosen to leave Wake Forest and our basketball team," Prosser said. "He was a contributing factor in our run to the Sweet Sixteen. We wish him nothing but the best in the future."
