Tokumbo Abanikanda is a good looking linebacker prospect from Osborne High School in Cobb County. He was a standout at TheInsiders/MSL Combine two weeks ago, and I got a chance to watch him on film last week as well. He seemed to be in on every play, and he had a good change of direction and lateral movement.
At 6-0 and 200 pounds, "Tombo" has an incredible amount of explosion. He vertical leaped 36 inches and broad jumped 9'5 at MSL. Looking at him, it's obvious that he has put the time in the weight room as well, and he backed up that thought with 25 reps of 185 on the bench press.
Abanikanda is getting a lot of looks from schools across the south, and he has narrowed down some of his favorites.
"Georgia is my favorite team right now," said Abanikanda. "My top five is probably Georgia, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Wake Forest. I've been getting hand written letters from Georgia, Wake, Ball State, and Georgia Tech. I'm planning on going to summer camps at Georgia, Auburn, Tech, and Miami this year."
Osborne struggled on the field last year, but one position that doesn't need to be worried about is the mike linebacker with Tombo at the helm.
