Tinsley Stepping Out Of The Shadow

It's hard to draw attention when your junior and sophomore seasons are spent backing up one of the best players in the nation. You can move to another position, but it just doesn't truly showcase your actual abilities.

"It was me and Jamaal Edwards," remarked Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley RB Kennedy Tinsley. "So I didn't get as many yards last year because of the low number of carries. I had about 500 yards, but I also had about 200 [yards] receiving, because I also played tight end and slot [receiver]."

Despite seeing spot duty behind four-star prospect and Florida State signee Edwards, Tinsley hasn't been suffering in the recruiting department. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder finds his name on many recruiting boards, and actually expects to be tendered his first offer very soon.

"No offers yet, I've heard I'm about to get some soon though," stated Tinsley who is also receiving interest from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Michigan. "[North] Carolina, Wake [Forest], and Duke are the most likely [to offer]."

Growing up a Tar Heels' fan, Tinsley would love for the UNC coaching staff to extend an offer. However, he wouldn't mind to see any of his top five tender him at this point.

"I'm a Carolina fan, so I want to see Carolina [offer]," he said. "I would also like to see Wake, Duke, Vanderbilt and Penn State offer me. Penn State has showed a little bit of interest."

Tinsley has attended UNC's spring game, and also has unofficially visited Duke. He plans to camp at Chapel Hill, Duke, and Wake Forest this summer and would also like to attend Vanderbilt's summer camp if his schedule permits it.
