Chalmers, a 6-1 point guard, will likely open up the summer as the top ranked point guard according to TheInsiders.com. He recently conducted a visit to Kansas last weekend and visited Arizona earlier.
"He's looking for a place he can go in and basically have an immediate impact," Ron Chalmers said. "Both schools offer that opportunity. They're similar in a lot of ways. He's looking for chemistry with the players and a good family atmosphere and he loved the history of the programs."
Though his son is down to a pair, Ron doesn't know which school it will be, but he's got his son working on some things to prepare for the decision.
"I think probably in his mind he does [know his choice] but I won't let him tell me because I don't want to know until Thursday night. Right now he's working on a pro and con list and he's giving me that tomorrow. I want him to tell me on Thursday night before he does the press conference on Friday. He loves both programs."
Rest assured, both programs love Mario Chalmers too. It's just a matter of days before love is in the air in either Tucson or Lawrence.
