Joseph Feeling Out Options

Maurice Joseph, one of the finest prospects in Canada's Class of 2005 and TheInsiders.com No. 78 player, has a very long list of schools that are interested in him.

Champlain St. Lambert has been the home to numerous Division I prospects the past few seasons. Bernard Cote and Pierre-Marie Altidor-Cespedes are both graduates of John DeAngelas' program. The next standout to emerge from St. Lambert is 6-4 shooting guard Maurice Joseph, TheInsiders.com No. 78 prospect.

Joseph made his mark at the War on the Shore and then later last winter at the Slam Dunk To The Beach. Joseph projects to be a fine scorer. As his confidence grows, so will his production. He'll attend the Reebok ABCD Camp this summer.

During the spring open period, Joseph entertained a number of programs. Among those who made their way north to Canada to check on him were head coaches Pete Gillen of Virginia and Skip Prosser of Wake Forest.

Assistants from North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Xavier, Richmond, Florida and Marquette were dispatched as well. Recently, Indiana, Utah, Stanford, Gonzaga, St. John's and Georgetown called.

Joseph has not taken the SAT so official visits are out of the question. At this point, Joseph's list is very large and his coach doesn't see anyone emerging into a leadership role. "At this point I'd say that he's wide open," DeAngelas said.
