Deese Has Deacon Bloodlines

Laurinburg offensive lineman Adam Deese has Deacon ties. The brother of former Deacon wide receiver Jammie Deese, Adam grew up following his brother and the Deacs. This fact helps make Wake the younger Deese's favorite.

"When Jammie went there, he really loved it and that really boosted my interest in it," Adam Deese said. "When I went and visited and met with the coaches, they were straightforward and I like that. The campus is compact, it's all close together, the campus and practice fields and it's just a great school."

Although the Deacs stand at the top of his list, other schools are also showing interest. Along with Wake, Deese is also interested in East Carolina, N.C. State, Appalachian State, and Duke.

"Wake's #1 right now," Deese said. "I love Wake. Wake and I guess App. and then East Carolina. Then State. Wake's above them all right now."

Deese, who stands 6'2, 263-pounds with a 4.9 40, is currently working on his strength and footwork in order to keep improving on his game – and hoping to help him squad to a state championship. "I'd love to get a ring on my finger," Deese said. "Until you get that you can't be satisfied. I think we're looking pretty good. I think we have a good shot. We've just got to get past Richmond first."

This summer, Deese will work towards his goal in Winston-Salem as well, as he will camp at Wake Forest.
