Farmer Talks Recruiting

Anthony Farmer isn't shy about telling you who leads in his recruiting process...

The quick and offensive-minded 6-0 point guard from St. Augustine Prep in Richland, N.J., says that Rutgers is ahead of the field by a wide margin. "Rutgers has been on me since day one," Farmer said. "It's possible that I could commit sometime in July."

Farmer, who played with the New Jersey All-Stars at this past weekend's Nike Memorial Day Classic, said he's been offered by Rutgers, Georgetown, Miami and St. Joseph's. Others showing more mild interest are Wake Forest and Maryland.

One of Farmer's teammates this past weekend, 6-5 forward Jaron Griffin, is expected to formally announce for the Scarlet Knights in the next week or so. From the sound of it, Farmer might not be far behind.

"Rutgers is building and on the rise," he said. "It's in New Jersey and close to home so my parents can see me play, and they have an awesome coaching staff."
