Gwynn Visits Wake Forest

Burlington Cummings wing guard T.J. Gwynn is one a host of prospects from the class of 2005 to which Wake Forest is still showing interest. He recently took a visit to the Winston-Salem campus.

T.J. Gwynn, a 6'4, 185-pound wing guard from Burlington, North Carolina is receiving inquiries from a variety of schools on the east coast. Currently, Wake Forest, Miami, Virginia Commonwealth, Old Dominion, and High Point are showing Gwynn the most interest.

With that interest, Gwynn has made several visits and has plans to visit other schools such as Delaware in the near future. " I made a visit to ODU, Wake Forest, made a visit to Elon, and that's about it," Gwynn said. "The visit to ODU went very well. I like the campus and the dorms that they're staying in and the gym was very nice."

Gwynn also talked about his visit to Wake Forest. "I took that last Wednesday or two Wednesdays ago," he said. "We came back from the NBA camp on Tuesday and I took the visit the next day. The campus was very nice. They're a school worried about the academics of athletes. I think they take academics first and I think that's a good thing. It would be a good school to go to."

Gwynn was also impressed with the coaches at Wake. "They're very nice people. They're doing a very good job recruiting and getting talented players as well."

Although he has picked up offers from Old Dominion, VCU, High Point, Elon, and others, Wake is holding back from offering. "They haven't really seen me play enough, they haven't seen but a couple of games and want to see a couple more games to see what I can do as far as outside shooting and that kind of thing." Gwynn expects Wake to be watching at the AAU nationals later on this summer.
