Nike Day: Day One Press Room II

<b>INDIANAPOLIS –</b> A plethora of guards strolled into the Nike press room Wednesday evening. We chatted up guys like Jerome Dyson (2006), Justin Dentmon and Jeremiah Rivers (2006) to name a few.

The son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers is in attendance at Nike Camp and he's a pretty good player. Notre Dame might be close.

Illinois State but didn't get a passing ACT score, said there's a 50% chance he re-ups with ISU. Illinois State wanted him to sit out this season but Dentmon wasn't hearing that. So, he enrolled at Winchendon for a 5th year and re-opened his recruitment. Miami is coming on strong and UConn is interested. He said he hasn't heard from Illinois in a while but the Illini are rumored to be in the hunt too. …

South Florida, Manhattan, Clemson and St. John's. He wants to run, win and be around guys who have heart. …

Jerome Dyson is going to be a fast riser in the class of 2006. This talented backcourt player has a big time stroke and excellent grades. North Carolina State, Mississippi State, Georgetown and Maryland. He's a native of Maryland who is studying at Proctor Academy up north. …

Junior guard Tywon Lawson says he's got offers from local schools Georgetown and Maryland. Georgia Tech, UNC, Michigan, Texas, Wake Forest and Florida State are keeping tabs on him. He wants to play in the Big Ten or ACC and is being recruited as a point guard and maybe a combo. …

New Yorker and Top 100 guard Pittsburgh, Miami and South Florida are in the mix. All have offered. "I'm on my own timetable," Fields said. "I want to feel out the schools, see how I like it and then make a decision."

John Krekow, an academically oriented forward is out to earn a Division I scholarship this week. Coming into camp he's had just D-II offers but is hearing from Furman, North Dakota State, Indiana State, Creighton and Montana. …
