Randolph Picking Up Offers

Davie County (NC) tight end Ted Randolph has picked up seven scholarship offers in recent months. How do the Deacons stand with one of the the North Carolina's finest prospects? Pretty well, judging by his camp experience.

"I went to Ohio State and to the one-day at Wake Forest," Ted Randolph said. "They both went pretty good. I went to the Wake camp and got to meet the coaches and got real comfortable with them which is real good. It went real well. Nothing bad happened at all. No negatives. OSU was also good the coaches were real good too. Both coaches from both schools were straight forward with me and that's what I want."

Randolph has no more plans to camp anywhere else this summer, but does have an unofficial visit planned in the near future. "I am going to go to Wake Forest next week and speak to some professors about the academics," Randolph said.

While Randolph has only been to Ohio State and Wake, it's not because of a lack of schools wanting him to visit. To date, Randolph has seven major D-I offers in writing. "Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, Duke, ECU, South Carolina, Clemson, and Stanford," Randolph listed as schools that have offered so far. Others may offer soon, however.

"I get a lot from Virginia Tech, a lot from them, and actually at the OSU camp they said they would call at the end of the month."

With offers on the table from a host of schools around the country, Randolph has a choice on what school he will attend. He has favorites, but wants to withhold them for now.

"I do have a couple [schools] in mind but I'm trying to keep it personal," Randolph said. "Actually, I do want to make a decision before the first game of the season which is in August."

With Randolph planning to decide before the season, will OSU or Tech offer before it is too late or will they miss out on throwing their names in the hat for one of the most talented prospects in the Tarheel state? Stay tuned.
