Davie County TE Commits

Wake Forest received a commitment from one of the top prospects in the state this past week when tight end Ted Randolph committed to Wake Forest.

Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, ECU, South Carolina, Clemson, and Stanford all offered Ted Randolph before the big man committed to the Deacs. With a commitment from Randolph, Tennessee wide receiver Jonathan Jones, D.C. WR E.J. Wynn, and Georgia tight end Ben Wooster, Wake's total number of commits increases to five.

Why did Randolph go ahead and commit to the Deacs? "They told me there are four offers out and they're taking just two. When [the coaches] said that, I started thinking about it more and didn't want to screw myself over."

"What helped me with my decision, I went down and met with Coach Lambert, Coach Grobe, Coach Elrod, [and] Coach Lobo. I already liked the school because of the academics – that was a big plus. The football program has unlimited potential. The coaches are real nice people, I couldn't ask for nicer people and they're real straight forward with me."

Although Randolph made an early decision, it is not a decision that will be changing. "That's where I'm going to go," Randolph said. "Once I say something, that's how it's going to be. That's how my parents raised me."

Randolph has already met NCAA qualification standards academically.
