Hale Talks Wake Commitment

6'3 guard Harvey Hale committed to Wake Forest Tuesday night. Wednesday, DeaconSports spoke with Hale on why he went ahead and chose the Deacons.

"I love Coach Prosser, Coach Battle and the coaching staff. The relationship I had with them is incredible. I like Wake Forest a lot. That's where my heart is and my family loved them...My high school coach too. It was a great fit. I wanted to get it over with and I asked Coach Prosser if I could commit."

Although Hale is elated to be a Demon Deacon, Coach Prosser was just as happy. "He was so happy he said he was doing cartwheels and said it was a good day for him," Hale said. "He said it's the best decision I ever made and I said ‘I know' and he said he won't let me down – and I believe him."

Although Hale had other visits lined up, he will just take one – Wake Forest on September 24th. "That's it. I have other visits lined but this is [the only one I'm taking.]"

Hale, who received offers from all of his finalists – Arkansas, SMU, New Mexico State, DePaul, Arizona State, Oklahoma – will bring a lot to the table for the Deacs.

"I can score," Hale said. "I'm a great scorer, play good D. I'm going to play hard every day, every game. I'm going to fill up the box scores with rebounds, assists – try to make guys around me better. I'm a team player, I love to win. Whatever it takes to win I'll do."

Another intelligent player with a team-first attitude – welcome to Wake Forest, Harvey Hale.
