Midgett Taking Visits?

Deacon linebacker commitment Dominique Midgett and his Dudley Panthers faced off with the Parkland Mustangs this past week. Unfortunately for Midgett, the Panthers fell in defeat 21-6. DeaconSports caught up with Midgett following the game Friday night.

"It was a tough team, man," Dominique Midgett said. "They came out and wanted it more. We had a bad week of practice and weren't focused and they took it to us. We're going to bounce back."

While Midgett had an ok game Friday, he notes that his play means nothing without a win. "I can't talk about my play," Midgett noted. "I thought I played pretty good, but we lost, so that doesn't really matter."

Though Midgett's Dudley squad fell in defeat on Friday, the Panthers are having a great season, especially after losing top players including Demario Pressley (NCSU), Jamaal Edwards (FSU), and Martel Thatch (UNC) from a year ago. Dudley is now 7-2 on the season, 4-2 in conference play. "We're doing pretty good," he said. "I had a little knee injury but I'm back and doing real good too."

As Midgett's season winds down, he is also working to figure out his future. He has verbally committed to Wake Forest but still plans on making visits. "I'm set on Wake right now," Midgett said, "but I'm probably taking more visits. They're going to let me get out a little bit, see other places."

Midgett notes that he will likely visit Duke, Vanderbilt, East Carolina, and Maryland. He currently claims offers from Wake Forest, Virginia, Maryland, Duke, Vanderbilt, and East Carolina.
