Bailey Recruiting For The Deacs

Trey Bailey, an offensive lineman from Byrnes, South Carolina, committed to Wake Forest early during his senior campaign. Bailey is firmly committed to Wake Forest, visited for the North Carolina basketball game, and is currently preparing for next season while recruiting some teammates to head to Wake Forest.

While many prospects are being recruited harder and harder as signing day approaches, Deacon commitment Trey Bailey from Byrnes High School in South Carolina is doing the recruiting himself. Bailey, from one of the top football programs on the east coast, is currently courting many of his younger teammates to be Demon Deacons.

"I'm trying," said offensive lineman Trey Bailey. "I'm trying to talk to Prince [Miller]. He's already been offered. He said he's going to look but I don't know, he's a big recruit like Miami." Prince Miller, a junior cornerback at Byrnes, has already received an offer from Wake Forest.

"With Prince, Wake and Duke have offered, Virginia Tech and Miami are looking at him. Clemson [should offer] by the end of this year he'll have everyone looking at him. He's an all-around good athlete. Probably a defensive back, real fast and real strong. He led the team in interceptions [this year.]"

Another top prospect from Byrnes who has received an offer – although unofficial at this point due to NCAA rules – is sophomore quarterback Will Korn. Along with Wake, Clemson has verbally offered at this point.

There are several other prospects at Byrnes High School as well, according to Bailey. "I'd say a lot, at least five [underclassmen] will be Division I. Three will probably go but there's more than that, it's up to grades too."

Along with his efforts to bring in more Deacons from Byrnes, Bailey is also lifting with Byrnes' strength coach four days per week and staying in shape. He has also had the opportunity to meet several Deacon commits at the Shrine Bowl as well as at the North Carolina – Wake Forest basketball game earlier this year.
