McMillin All Set

Wake Forest's coaches have been working hard to get their recruits ready for signing day on Wednesday...

Though Wake Forest received most of their commitments earlier this year, the Deacon staff still has a tough job, fending off schools trying to get in with their recruits while getting their prospects set for signing day. "Just [Monday night,] Coach Mullen called me and went through the process and we talked about signing day," Barrett McMillin said. "We got it all set."

In recent weeks, Coach Grobe has traveled the country visiting each of Wake's verbal commitments. "Last Thursday, Coach Mullen and Coach Grobe came down here and talked with us."

Among the topics that Coach Grobe discussed was the fact that he will try to redshirt all true freshmen. "Coach Grobe talked about that on Thursday," McMillin said. "He said they want to redshirt everybody but in my case if I go to two-a-day practices and if they like what I see and they need 35-40 snaps they may play me. The redshirt year will help me get ahead at school but if they need me I'll be ready."

Recently, McMillin took one last look at Wake Forest before signing as he took his official visit to Wake Forest. "Two weeks ago I went on an official visit and it was a lot of fun," he said. "It was great. The game [between Wake and UNC] was exciting and fun and I really liked the atmosphere. That was my second time at Wake."

McMillin will sign with Wake Forest on Wednesday morning and will also have a separate ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
