Interest Begins For VA DT

Hermitage High School (Richmond, Va.) has been the home to some of the most talented high school prospects in the state of Virginia over the past few years. In the class of 2006, Coach Patrick Kane continues to have college prospects including lineman Isaiah Hinson.

Four Hermitage High prospects have already signed letter-of-intents in the class of 2005 while other former Hermitage products including UVa's Fontel Mines have signed in the past few years. Hermitage has also produced several other ACC caliber players in Andrew Bowman and Duane Brown who signed with Virginia Tech in recent years. This year, Hermitage has more college prospects in the pipeline.

Isaiah Hinson is a 6'3, 320 pound offensive guard and defensive tackle for the Hermitage Panthers. According to Patrick Kane, head coach at Hermitage, Hinson is likely to play defensive tackle at the next level.

"I don't know there is anything in part of his game that is a weakness," Kane said of Hinson. "I think his strength and his quickness are good and also his feet with his size."

Not only does Hinson have great athletic ability according to Coach Kane, he also has the ability and stamina to play both ways. "There aren't many who have the ability to start both ways and he did that," Kane said. "You don't see him in the film walking around, he's always playing every play hard."

Early on, Hinson has already begun to receive letters and other interest from schools around the region. "As a matter of fact, I got my first phone call today [about Hinson,"] Kane said. "They were expressing interest and want to see how he's doing academically. I imagine in the next month or so a lot of schools will really be showing interest in him."
