Some things must be seen to be believed, like a 6-2 and 275 pound running back has the footwork to make defenders miss and the power to drag them down field. Micah Johnson of Fort Campbell Kentucky is one of those players that must be seen to be believed. See him in action in this presentation by ScoutTV.
stars at Fort Campbell High School in Fort Valley, Kentucky, and he is one of the most physically gifted big men in the country. He turned in a sub 5.0 forty at the US Army Combine in San Antonio which is quick enough to play middle linebacker, but when I saw him, I had him pegged for defensive tackle right away.
He has the type of athleticism that if he wants to play linebacker, it's not completely out of the question that he could play there in college, but he has the makings of a 1st round draft pick at the defensive tackle position. He has an amazing burst, and he tracks from sideline to sideline. He put up big-time numbers against his competition as a junior including rushing for over 1,200 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns in just six games. Much of that yardage came in the last three games of the season when he switched to running back from fullback.
He also made 173 tackles on defense and notes that he rarely played in the second half of games because his team was usually holding a big lead at intermission.
