Productive Georgia RB Names Favorites

Okeem McLendon is a productive running back from Macon County High School in the state of Georgia. He names a top 5 with an early favorite.

"I like Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Florida. Georgia Tech is sending me the most letters right now," Okeem McLendon said.

Who's on top? "I really would love to go to Georgia. I just like them for some reason. I like their program and all the athletes they have produced."

What stands out about the other schools on his list?

Georgia Tech: "I like their program and it looks like they have room for running backs."

North Carolina: "I love their basketball program and I love their colors."

Wake Forest: "I've seen them play on TV and it looks like I fit in with their offense."

Florida: "I would love to compete with Tony Wright because he beat us up in the 9th grade. He ran over us."

"I want a good athletic program and a place with a good basketball and football team. I want to play two sports. I'd love to run track and play football. My best event is the 400m. I ran a pretty good time last year. Our first meet is March 10th."

He knows he still has parts of his game to improve, however. "I need to work on my blocking. My acceleration is my best thing."

This past fall, McLendon was a standout on the gridiron. "I had 1,857 yards and 20-something touchdowns. I made All-State last year also. This year I want to win the championship. I want to get 2,200 yards as well for a personal goal."

Okeem is off to a good start in the classroom. "I have a 3.2 GPA. I take the SAT in May."
