Greenwood QB Drawing Interest

Greenwood High quarterback Armanti "Money" Edwards will be one of the top athletes in South Carolina next season, and the Deacons are one of several teams showing early interest in Edwards.

The 6-0, 160 pound prospect had an outstanding junior season for Greenwood High. "I had over 1300 yards passing with 18 touchdowns. I also had one touchdown receiving and nine rushing touchdowns," Edwards told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

Expect the talented athlete to pick up several offers as he starts visiting campuses over the next few months. "I am waiting on my first offer. Clemson, South Carolina, Wake Forest and North Carolina are all showing interest right now."

When asked if he has any early favorites, Edwards responded, "I like North Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina."

Two ACC teams are recruiting the Greenwood standout the hardest at this time. "North Carolina and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest," stated Edwards.

" I'm going to go visit some junior days but not sure when. Me and my coach are talking about the camps, but we haven't made any plans yet."

What position are teams recruiting the star athlete for? "I am being recruited as an athlete," stated Edwards.

"I am a good scrambler. I want to work on my passing next year. I also want to work on reading coverages."

Coach Blackwell is recruiting Edwards for the Tigers. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2006.
