Deacs Heavily Recruiting McNeil

After sending two players to division I-A programs this past Signing Day, Mocksville (N.C.) Davie High School boasts yet another prospect that has recruiters visiting the small North Carolina town. Raeshon McNeil, a 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback, is seeing lots of interest coming from ACC and SEC schools including two scholarship offers.

"I have an offer from Duke and the University of Virginia," said McNeil. "Also, I've been talking to Tennessee real heavily and Wake [Forest] real heavily, and I'm going down to Virginia Tech Saturday for their Junior Day."

McNeil has also attended junior days at Duke, Virginia, and Tennessee. He also hopes to make an unofficial visit to North Carolina in the upcoming weeks.

With the help of his travels, McNeil, who hopes to commitment early, has been able to establish two co-leaders.

"Virginia definitely is starting to stand out and Tennessee," said McNeil. "I like Virginia's coaches a lot. Tennessee has a real nice campus and it has a real big football tradition."

Along with his division I-A teammates – James Arnold (North Carolina) and Ted Randolph (Wake Forest) – McNeil helped lead Davie to a 14-1 season. McNeil picked off five passes and totaled 60 tackles on the year.
