"I talked a lot to [Coach] Danny Pearman. I like all their coaches – they're real nice. I didn't get to talk to all of them, but they all got to talk [to the group] and they seemed like nice guys."
Despite enjoying his Blacksburg visit, Johnson currently is leaning in the directions of ACC and in-state rival Virginia.
"I just like everything there," said Johnson of the Cavaliers. "I went down there for the junior day and I just liked it. I liked the coaches and the whole atmosphere of everything."
Johnson is currently waiting on his first scholarship offer, but in addition to the three aforementioned schools, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is also receiving strong interest from Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Boston College, Georgia, and Penn State.
On his way to earning first-team all-district and second-team all-area honors, Johnson recorded 90 tackles and four interceptions.
Johnson doesn't have any additional junior day visits on his schedule, but is toying with the notion of camping at Virginia and Virginia Tech this summer.
