Only Butler currently owns a Wake Forest offer, leaving the Demon Deacons off the market for the Asheville package at this time. However, White believes that will change relatively soon. "My coach has been saying that they've been leaning towards offering me," said White. "But I haven't heard anything yet."
Despite not offering his teammate, Butler, who is being recruiting to play cornerback by the Deacs, admits Wake Forest is still very much in race for his services. "I think they're on the same playing field as everyone else," said Butler. "But I really can't say right now."
North Carolina is White's lone offer, while Butler's offers sheet includes Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State and the Deacons.
The Asheville duo visited Wake Forest in late February to scope out the campus and take in a basketball game. "We went to their [basketball] game against Virginia," said White. "We sat with Coach Hood and I like him a lot. I talked to the running back coach, too."
Both enjoyed the 90-68 beating of the Cavaliers, and what they saw and heard during the unofficial visit. "It's a nice campus," said Butler. "It's a little smaller than all the other schools, but it's nice."
Last season the duo accumulated 3,506 yards and 48 touchdowns on the ground. Butler added 740 yards and five touchdowns through the air. Butler also saw limited time on defense where he recorded 19 tackles, one interception, eight pass deflections, and forced one fumble.
