Catron Wants Wake To Show Interest

While Wake Forest picked up a commit for 2005, there are many 2006 recruits that like Wake Forest as well. One is Joevan Catron. Evan Daniels caught up with Catron at the Spiece Run N' Slam this past weekend.

While at the Spiece Run N' Slam this past weekend Joevan Catron played quite well for his Meanstreets club. Catron is very strong on the boards and goes to the glass with some intensity.

The 6-foot-6 forward currently likes Arizona, Illinois, and Oregon. Catron said that those are his top three schools and that each has offered.

However there is one school that Catron said he's interested in, but they haven't shown much interest back. That school is Wake Forest.

"They haven't really shown any interest, like come to my school or anything like that," Catron said. "They been sending me stuff, but they haven't really shown any interest."

Catron, who averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds a game this past season, went on to say that if the Demon Deacons showed more interest that they'd be very high on the list.

"I'd be very interested," Catron responded when asked about Wake Forest and if he liked them. "They'd pop to the top of the list."

"They'd be my top school because it's a good program down there, good team, and good tradition."

Catron said that there are a few factors that will go into making his decision.

"How well I get along with the coaches and if they have my major there," Catron stated.

The forward from Harvey, Illinois said that he wants to major in fashion design when he gets to college.
