Deacs #7 In Midwest

Wake Forest is a seven seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional to be played in Sacramento, California. The Deacs will play tenth seeded Pepperdine Thursday.

The NCAA Tournament brackets are out and Wake Forest is in the tournament once again. The Deacs are the seventh seed in the Midwest Regional that begins March 14 in Sacramento, California.

The Deacs' first round opponent is a tough one in Pepperdine. Thursday's game is slated to begin at 2:42 pm Eastern Time.

Pepperdine, 22-8 overall, will be a tough test for Skip Prosser and his Deacs. Pepperdine is coached by former NBA coach Paul Westphal, and Westphal has done an excellent job, earning an at-large bid for the West Coast Conference power.

Wake Forest last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2001 when the Deacs were blown out by Butler in the first round. Pepperdine last danced in 2000 when they lost to Oklahoma State in second round.
