Home is where the heart is for Matt Woodlief, and the Catawba (N.C.) Bandys linebacker felt right at home with Wake Forest. The linebacker committed to the Deacs on Sunday night becoming the third in-state commitment this year.
"I did commit to Wake Forest," says the 5-foot-10, 230 pounder. "That is just where I wanted to be, that is where my heart was. I prayed night and day about what college I wanted to choose, and Wake Forest ended up on top.
"They have a better education, a better program of what I want to major in, sports management. I just loved how the people are there, they are like a big family."
Playing the right position is key for Woodlief, as sticking to the defensive side of the ball is certainly his preference.
"They want me as an inside linebacker. They said that if I can prove to them that I can play at that level, then I can start."
