Clemson's Shyatt Will Stick Around - For Years

Even after a rough season, Clemson head basketball coach Larry Shyatt was told he will remain Clemson's basketball coach next season...and through the 2004-2005 season.

Clemson's Larry Shyatt received a two-year contract extension to remain the Tigers' head basketball coach through the 2004-2005 season as announced Friday afternoon by Clemson Athletic Director Bobby Robinson.

Robinson said that the future looks promising for Clemson basketball. "We have not been satisfied with the won-loss record, but, with the players we have returning and the players we have signed for next year, we feel we will make a strong improvement in terms of wins and losses next season and in the future," said Robinson.

The Tigers ended up the 2001-2002 season at 13-17.

With Shyatt hanging around, Florida State's Steve Robinson is most likely the only ACC head coach that will not return for next season.
