Diamond Deacs Beat Tech; Rained Out

Wake Forest tore apart Georgia Tech pitching Saturday afternoon at Hooks Stadium in Winston-Salem. Game three on Sunday, however, was rained out.

Wake Forest improved to 2-0 in ACC play this season when the Deacs pulled off a 11-5 victory over Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon.

Outfielder Ryan Johnson and third baseban Jamie D'Antona both homeruns for the Deacons to lead the WFU offensive attack.

Meanwhile, reliever Brian Bach picked up the win for the Deacs, giving him a 1-0 record on the season.

The Deacs, #11 nationally, moved up to 16-2 overall with the win while #5 Georgia Tech fell to 14-3 overall, 0-2 in conference play.

Sunday's game against Georgia Tech was rained out.

Wake will hit the turf again Tuesday afternoon when the Deacs host Georgia at 3:00 at Hooks Stadium.
