DeaconSports.com talked with Greensboro Gaters president Vic Sapp this week and he had great things to say concerning Wake Forest verbal Trent Strickland. Here's what he said:
"Trent is a remarkable player and has the ability to impact Wake early on. He has incredible leaping ability and athletic skills to be a true ACC player. He has good range and the ability to hit the three, but he is a tremendous slasher. I love the kid and think with him and Richard (Joyce) on the wings, Wake will have two of the best guards in the country."
Also, Trent is rising in the rankings as his play has continued to improve. Currently, Trent is rated the #54 player in the nation according to PrepStars.
Trent Strickland was Wake Forest's second verbal commitment from the class of 2002, following in the footsteps Mount Airy's Richard Joyce.
Strickland is a top-100 player out of East Henderson (NC) High School. He is rated the 94th best prospect according to Prepstars.
Strickland is an athletic wing guard who can score in bundles. He is a good leaper as well and can hit the three pretty well. Trent will definitely be a great addition to the Wake Forest program.
