Julian Vaughn, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Reston, Virginia, established himself as a big-time player this summer jumping up to 19th in Scout.com's latest rankings.
But Scout.com wasn't the only one that noticed his strong play, just take a look at the schools that have already offered the rising junior a scholarship: Wake Forest, Georgia, Miami, Maryland, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Kansas, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Boston College, Georgetown, Ohio State, UCLA, Illinois Michigan, and Georgia Tech.
The 7th best center in the class of 2007 even took an unofficial visit this past week to Wake Forest and he said that he really enjoyed it.
"I talked to Coach Prosser in the main office, we went and saw the gym and then [we went] to the arena and the locker rooms and stuff," Vaughn said. "We went back to open gym and Chris Paul was there."
Vaughn said that he hung out with the assistant coaches a lot of them time on his visit and they showed him a highlight video from last year.
"They showed me a highlight tape of last year, I liked that, it was pretty cool," Vaughn explained. "And the football game, I really liked the environment. There were a lot of people there."
"Basically they said they really want me and they liked to see me down there in the future," Vaughn said.
But Vaughn isn't ready to begin narrowing down his long list. He wants to be smart about the whole process and really find out what each school has to offer.
"Everyone is kind of the same right now, I'm going to narrow down my list later."
However when asked if Wake Forest would be a factor in his final recruitment Vaughn responded, "Oh definitely yeah."
