Noting the Demon Deacons:
Wake Forest's Sunday win, combined with Clemson's loss, gave the Demon Deacons sole possession of first place in the ACC... Wake Forest swept Virginia in the regular season for the second straight year and won for the seventh straight game overall... All-American closer Dave Bush extended his streak of innings without allowing an earned run to 13, spanning nine appearances... on Friday, Bush moved into sole possession of second place on the ACC's all-time appearance list and now stands at 127... with an 8-7 win on Friday and a 4-3 win on Saturday, the Deacons are now 15-1 in games decided by two runs or less... Jamie D'Antona saw his 11-game hitting streak come to an end on Saturday... Jeff Ruziecki now holds the team's longest active streak at five games... junior Ryan Braun made his first appearance on the mound of the 2002 season... he started on Sunday but did not factor in the decision... it was the first time Braun has pitched in a Deacon uniform since the 2001 subregional in Knoxville.
