Schoetz Injury Update

DeaconSports caught up with Wake Forest redshirt freshman center Dshamal Schoetz this week in order to find out how he is recovering from his knee injury.

DeaconSports got in touch with Wake Forest redshirt freshman center Dshamal Schoetz this past weekend to get an update on his knee injury that kept him out of action this past year. Schoetz, officially listed at 7'0" and 263 pounds, had the following to say about his progress with his knee injury.

"My knee is well and I'm almost ready to play again," the Cottbus, Germany native said. "I should be ready to play five-on-five by July or August."

"Right now, I can shoot and do some light non-contact stuff. Also, I am going to be around all summer and once I'm 100%, I will start conditioning in order to catch up with the team."

"As far as playing goes, I'm really just going to have to wait and see how everything goes between now and by the time season starts."

Although at Wake Forest for two years, Schoetz still has not seen a single minute of actual game-time in a Demon Deacon jersey. Hopefully Schoetz can recover to 100% and be ready to make a positive impact for Skip Prosser's squad next season.
