Lexington (NC) Senior High School product Cory Holt is one of the top quarterbacks in the state of North Carolina.

One of the few Division I football prospects to come out of my former high school in recent years, Holt definitely has the tools to play at the Division I level. The progress he made through his hard work between his sophomore and junior seasons was amazing, and it showed on the field.

His junior year, he was named honorable mention for the 2001 All-Northwest Football Team while being an All-Conference selection. Holt completed 56% of his passes last season for the Yellow Jackets. For the season, he threw for 2,038 yards and 29 touchdowns for Coach Billy Hunt's team.

Against West Stokes, Holt threw for a state record-tying eight touchdown passes in a game. That mark also placed him fourth in the nation for most touchdown throws in a single contest.

So far, Holt has no offers but is hearing from schools such as Wake Forest, North Carolina State, North Carolina, and others.

Holt is also a star on the basketball court for the Yellow Jackets.
