McFarland Enjoys Visit To Wake Forest

Chas McFarland took a visit to Winston-Salem, NC this past weekend and he spoke to Evan Daniels, of, about the visit and his recruitment.

With four scholarships already handed out, Wake Forest hosted 7-foot center Chas McFarland for an official visit in hopes of adding a fifth player in the class of 2006.

McFarland, who narrowed his list to Wake Forest, Boston College, and Marquette last week, traveled to Winston-Salem, NC on Friday and went to their game against George Mason.

"I went to some meetings and then went to the game. They had an exhibition game with George Mason. I went to that and then hung out with the players on Friday," McFarland explained. "Saturday I met with the strength and conditioning coach. And toured the campus and hung out with coaches and the players."

The Worcester Academy product said that he had a good time on the visit and he was impressed with the coaching staff.

"It went good. I really enjoyed myself. They are all great guys. They are all nice. They care about their jobs and making the players better," McFarland said about Wake Forest and their coaching staff.

McFarland also commented on the other two schools in pursuit of him, and he was very complementary of each.

"I just like how Coach Skinner coaches he's not going to scream, yell, and cuss like some coaches do. He's a laid back guy. He'll get on you if he needs to though."

"Marquette they are all great guys and Coach Crean will make sure your working hard, and sometimes I need that just to have someone to get me going."
