Plackemeier Wins Ray Guy Award

Wake Forest punter Ryan Plackemeier was named the recipient of the Ray Guy Award as the nation's best kicker on Thursday.

Ryan Plackemeier, a senior punter out of California, was named the Ray Guy Award winner averaging 47.2 yards per punt this past season with a net average of 41.7 yards per punt. Both of those figures lead the nation in each respective category.

Meanwhile, Plackemeier finishes his career with an average of 45.26 yards per punt, making him the all-time leader in NCAA history. This includes the great Ray Guy himself who averaged 44.67 yards per punt.

Along with the Ray Guy Award, Plackemeier has also been named to several All-American teams and has been named All-ACC for the past three years.
