Tucker Hearing From Wake Forest

Wake Forest is recruiting a number of different prospects for the class of 2007 and Darquavis Tucker is one of them. Does he like Wake and what does he think of the program?

Darquavis Tucker had a fabulous summer running with the Michigan Hurricanes program. The 6-foot-5 wingman jumped his ranking up to 17th overall and 3rd at his position.

"We are real good. I like it a lot," Tucker said about his AAU team. "I get to see a couple of guys that I don't usually get to see."

But there's more to AAU than playing with old friends. AAU is all about improving a player's game and getting seen by college coaches. And the college coaches certainly came out to see Tucker play.

Among the schools that Tucker is hearing from are Michigan State, Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, Illinois, Georgetown, Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest. He claims offers from Michigan State and Miami.

"Not right now," Tucker said when asked if he had any favorites. "I'll probably commit in the summer."

Tucker said that distance won't be a factor in his decision and that the coach is one of the many important factors.

"Like probably what kind of coach they got and the school. That's why I like Miami a lot because it's a small school and you can get one on one with teachers and professors."

Wake Forest is another school that is recruiting Tucker pretty hard, and he likes what the Demon Deacons have to offer.

"I like Wake a lot," Tucker said. "I like their program they run a lot and I watch them a lot. I like the way they play. I like their coach a lot too."

Right now Tucker is pretty focused on the season and his team won their first game by 25. He scored 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists.
