Parker Down To Two

Safety Michael Parker was one of a host of prospects on campus in Winston-Salem this past weekend. Parker returned from his visit on Monday and spoke with DeaconSports about his trip to Wake Forest.

"It was real good," said safety Michael Parker who arrived in Winston-Salem on Friday. "We met with all the coaches. Then we toured the camp and academic center. We talked to a professor and we met with our position coach. They were telling us what we would be doing. We were chilling with our hosts, one of the guys on the team, and that's about it."

Parker, who was hosted by Alphonso Smith, thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Winston-Salem and now has his choices virtually narrowed down to two schools. "Virginia and Wake," Parker said. The 6'2, 180-pound Parker also has offers from Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, and South Carolina in addition to the Cavaliers and Demon Deacons.

"They're really both similar," Parker said in regards to Wake and Virginia. "Both have good academics, good players, and a good environment. They're both really alike. The campuses are alike."

So alike, in fact, that Parker is unsure how he will make his decision between the two. "I'm not even sure how [I will decide between them,"] he said.

Parker, who previously took an official visit to Kentucky in addition to Virginia, is slated to visit Georgia Tech this upcoming weekend, though the Yellow Jackets are currently a distant third.
