TOC Report - Day One

David Hall reports on day one of the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. A more complete look at several players and photos from todays action will be added in the near future.

I spoke with Will Sheridan about his unofficial visit Thursday to Wake Forest. Will said the visit went very well. He appreciated the opportunity to learn about the university, and was impressed with what he saw. There were no players on campus to meet, and Skip Prosser was out of town, but he said assistants Gaudio and Battle provided all the information he needed. Will said he might make an official visit back to Wake Forest down the road, and he'll make visits to other schools before reaching a decision either late summer or early fall.

Louisiana combo forward Warren Scott told me that Wake Forest is his current leader, and that Wake has an offer on the table for him. He is also interested in UNC and Tulane.

Wesley Green confirmed that he'll make an unofficial visit to Wake's campus on Sunday. Wesley's current list of schools also includes UNC, FSU, Marquette and St. John's.

Jermareo Davidson, a 6-10 PF/C from Stone Mountain, Georgia, listed Florida, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Alabama and Missouri. Jermareo said he'd like to make a trip to Wake Forest on Sunday, but isn't sure if he'll have time before he returns home. He is a player who has a ton of raw talent, and could receive a lot more attention after playing next to blue chip big man Chris Taft this weekend.

Finally, Todd Hendley took a nasty elbow to the face tonight. He looked like he'll be okay, although he had not returned to the floor prior to my departure near halftime to watch another game. Hopefully Todd will be okay for the rest of the weekend. He looked good prior to taking the elbow, including draining a deep 3-pointer.

I'll have a lot more later on this weekend.
