Godfrey Down To Two

Dennis Godfrey has cut down his final list to just two schools. Who made his final list of schools?

Dennis Godfrey will not be playing in Death Valley next fall, CUTigers.com has learned. At least that's how things stand for jumbo athlete as of Monday night.

The 6-3, 255 defensive end prospect took his final official visit over the weekend to Virginia Tech. "It went extremely well. In comparison to what I am looking for, it had the same aspects as Wake. I had never seen the campus before. The campus really blew me away," he said.

When asked if he had made a decision in the recruiting process, Godfrey responded, "No, I am down to Virginia Tech and Wake Forest."

What happened to the Tigers? After all, Clemson appeared to be even with Wake after Godfrey made his official visit earlier this month.

"I decided to drop Clemson," he said. "I just decided Clemson wasn't the environment that I thought it was and now I'm down to Wake and Virginia Tech."

Godfrey also said he will announce his decision on Wednesday. "I will probably have my decision around 1:30 on Wednesday. We are having a press conference at school.

"All my life I have been the underdog. I want to go somewhere that I can work hard and make the team around me better. I want to be able to help lift up the program."
