And now Hoffarber is starting to receive interest from some high level division-1 teams. Wake Forest, Stanford, Georgetown, Minnesota, Wisconsin Green-Bay and Kansas are among the showing him the most interest.
"It's going well," Hoffarber said of the recruiting process. "I'm getting calls almost every day and letters all the time. It's going pretty well, but it's getting to be a lot."
"I'm looking for a school with good academics and good basketball at the same time," he said.
After leading Hopkins HS to a 4-A state title last year, Hoffarber's team has a record of 16 and 2 this season and he averages 18 points, eight boards, and five assists per game.
"I'm a shooting guard that can shoot the three but I can also drive and pull up and drive and dish to the big men."
The lefty has excellent range on his jump shot and that's what makes him such a good prospect. However he is trying to drive a little bit more.
"I'm mostly trying to work on getting in the lane and getting a jump shot over the big men."
Don't expect Hoffarber to make a decision any time soon, as he wants to wait until at least the summer.
