Two way standout Chris Rhoden is a big reason why his Baker County team won the District Title outright for the first time in school history. Rhoden had 91 tackles and 5 interceptions on defense and 400 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns on offense. While his defensive numbers may seem more impressive, Rhoden will probably find a home on the offensive side of the ball.
Rhoden had a chance to show his ability in front of hundreds of coaches and peers at the Nike Camp in Athens, GA on April 28th, and he didn't disappoint. He was textbook in his route running, and on one play, he could have been teaching a class on how to beat press coverage. It's not wonder he has gotten attention from several dozen schools across the nation.
"I'm pretty much leaving my options wide open," said Rhoden. "But to name some of my favorites, I like Auburn, Duke, UCF, Florida, and Georgia Tech. Those are some of the schools whose coaches have personally written me letters, so they come to mind right away."
With a 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT, Rhoden is an excellent student that is looking for an even bigger year on the field. "We lost 2 of our big running backs this year, and we have a young quarterback with a strong arm. I think we'll open up the offense a little bit more this season."
With an inexperienced ground attack, a young strong armed quarterback, and a talented senior wide receiver, Rhoden's prediction for a big year is probably right on the money.
Auburn, UCF, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, NC State, Wake Forest, UNC, Clemson are some of the schools recruiting Rhoden at this time.
