Will Wait It Out

Though Desmond Roberts is considered to be a lean to N.C. State, the North Carolina native will take some time to check out his options.

Heading into N.C. State's junior day, eyes were on Desmond Roberts, who is considered a strong Wolfpack lean.

Although the 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive lineman neglected to verbally commit, the staff definitely attempted to close the deal.

"Coach [Curt] Cignetti, he was talking about committing," said Roberts. "He let me know that if I went ahead and committed early that would give motivation for other people they're trying to get."

While the Wolfpack firmly stand atop his favorites list, Roberts plans to explore all of his options before making a final decision.

"State is the number one place in my mind, but I still want to test the waters right now," said Roberts. "I'm waiting for my senior year to start, and I take my official visits. I'll know for sure after taking my official visits."

This Saturday Roberts will attend North Carolina's junior day, and then be on hand for both South Carolina's and Florida's spring games.

Speaking of the Gators, they could join NCSU, UNC, and USC by extending Roberts a scholarship offer.

"I'm waiting on one from Florida now," said Roberts. "Me and my coach have been talking to them – ‘Doc' Holiday. They said they're thinking about offering me a scholarship, but I haven't gotten anything official yet."

Additionally, Wake Forest and Clemson have begun to pickup their recruiting efforts.

During his stay in Raleigh, Roberts sat down with Coach Chuck Amato, and also toured the facilities including the Murphy Center.

This summer Roberts hopes to revisit N.C. State for his third straight Wolfpack camp. He also plans to attend summer camps at North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wake Forest.
