Graham Favors Deacs

Tyree Graham, of Mt. Zion, is a relatively new name for Wake Forest basketball fans. However the 6-1 guard is high on the Deacs and gave DeaconSports.com a full update on his recruitment.

One of Wake Forest's most recent recruits is Tyree Graham. The 6-foot-1 shooting guard turned point guard said Sunday night that Wake Forest is his number one school.

"I want to go to Wake Forest," Graham said. "I told them that. That's why I think they offered. I want to go there. I like Wake Forest."

Graham, who transferred to Mt. Zion in the middle of the season, is now playing point guard and is averaging 14 points and 6 assists per contest. The change in position mixed with the fact that he has re-classified to the 2008 class has a number of colleges in hot pursuit of him.

At this time he claims scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Clemson and ECU. Some other schools that he said have been recruiting him as well are Louisville, St. Johns, Georgia, Villanova and North Carolina.

It sounded as if Graham was close to making a decision however he decided to wait it out to make sure he picks the right school.

"I haven't committed yet," he said referring to the Demon Deacons. "I want to wait, but in a way I just want to get it over with. I'm in the class of 2008 now."

Even though he likes Wake Forest a lot he has yet to visit their campus. He has however taken unofficials to Villanova, Clemson, East Carolina, N.C. State and Duke.

Graham said that he expects to make a decision some time during the summer.
